Adjusted Reading

When we correct a previously used meter reading, we will show the new reading as "adjusted".

CCF

One hundred cubic feet of gas; a measure of quantity. Onc CCF will heat about 160 gallons of your tap water to 130 degrees Farenheit - the average hot water temperature.

Commodity Charges/Gas Supply Charges

The charges for the natural gas product which is sold either in cubic feet or decatherms.

Delivery Service Charges

The costs of delivering gas to you through the Utility's pipeline system, which is owned and operated by the Utility. This cost is regulated by the PSC and is the same price for all customers, no matter which supplier you choose.

Deregulation and Unbundling

The utilities or local supply companies have unbundled their services allowing National Fuel Resources, Inc. (NFR) to provide energy supplies directly to customers and utilize the Utility's system to transport and deliver to your home or business.

Energy Service Company (ESCO)

A company offering energy and related services to customers in a deregulated energy environment. NFR is an ESCO.

Gas Supply Charges

The actual costs of the natural gas you purchased.

MCF

One thousand cubic feet of gas. There are 10 CCF's in 1 MCF. So, for example, a gas price of $.80 per CCF is the same as $8.00 per MCF.

Minimum Bill (Basic Service Charge)

Covers the Utility's charge of the costs that do not change based on the amount of gas you use. These costs include billing, meter reading, and line maintenance. This charge is billed to you whether or not you use any gas.

Transportation and/or Distribution System

The pipes and other equipment used to distribute and deliver natural gas to end-use consumers from the interstate gas pipelines.
